Canine Bahavioural Help available by veterinary referal

We offer the very best services in our field. We never settle for second best and always have your satisfaction as our top priority. It’s who we are and we are proud of it.

We believe prevention is better, far easier and cheaper than curing issues.

How can we prevent behavioural issues developing in our beloved canine?

Enrol as soon as you can at your local dog training classes.  The best ones are run by IMDT qualified dog trainers, where we know they use the best techniques.  Ususally they are in blocks of 6-8 weeks.  Here we recommend that you then continue with atleast another set of 6-8 weeks minimum, ideally keep going!  One set of 6 week puppy classes is not enough to give you the tools for doggy adulthood.   It is like taking your child out of the education system at year 3 and expecting them to be mentally content and have to skills to cope through puberty and the trying 'becoming an adult' stage.  All learning is age dependant.  Enjoy the ride together and make friends as you go.

All negative behaviours can be prevented and altered, however giving the dogs the coping skills BEFORE a negative experience, makes them easily shrug it off as if nothing ever happened.

Imagine.  Walking through a park and theres loose dogs barking and growling and your dog just walks past without reacting..

You let your dog off the park and there's squirrels and rabbits running riot, you call your dog back and he goes back on his lead happily.

You drop a massive chunk of Sunday roast on the floor and your dog doesn't even get up to sniff it. He wouldn't dream of stealing and eating it or worse... GUARD it...   All these lovely skills can be learned by attending the right clubs at the right times.  Just send us a message if you need help finding one in your area. The Kennel club has some great ones on their website: Kennel Club Dog Trainers.  There are also some good trainers here at the Institute of modern dog trainers.

Why would you not take this option?

By attending a dog training club you help reduce the chances of unwanted behaviours by investing time and energy. That effort then could make the next 10 years a bliss.  10 years of everyone wanting your well behaved little angel,  What a compliment for your efforts!

HOW?  Simple.  Sign up for your 6-8 week dog training classes. Listen to how you can be the best dog parent and how to prevent nasty behaviours before they start.  If you invest once a week for 18 Months, you have crammed a lifetime of skills and socialisation into your dog making him so happy to know what his job is and what the rules are.  With a fab trainer behind you, who will become your friend, you can nip all the testing stages in the bud and come out the other side, what ever the breed and size!

Unfortunatley we are in a 'want now' lazy society and full of 'can't be arsed' people.   They don't feel the need to do any training as they think they are doing enough at home. Maybe, or maybe not.

My aim?  To not be needed.  By everyone loving their dogs so much they invest the time and energy for THEM.  They love their dog enough to invest a  few pounds a week right at the start.

So sign up!  Whatever the dogs age, have a word with your local dog training group and treat it as a night out of fun.  They will help you with all the exercises and how to gain full control of your dog.  Some are behaviourists too and can help with minor issues, or can point you to a 'degree' qualified canine behaviourist.

Please look for the 'degree gained and the University it was taken' as the word 'behaviourist' is not a protected title and you need to know if they are postive reinforcement based.  We never tug, push or force a dog. We do not need to.

It's fun!  It's rewarding! You make friends!  It's a night out!  Your dog will be shattered!  Your dog will be using his brain!  Your dog will be happy!  Your dog can understand you!  You can understand your dog!  You can invent little tricks!  The kids can learn from you how to communicate with your dog!

Communication is everything to your dog. Your furry friend is now relaxed and understands his family... Priceless :D
