This little madam was staying from within 3 minutes of being born. As soon as I realised she was a little girl I was delighted to have the much wanted little Alpine. They were the most bonded out of all the pups and she was the only one who would stay with her Mum after a feed. She would snuggle into her neck and hang off her tail, Alpine never flinching and never told them off for anything!!! She excelled in working lead dog potential and close to full marks in show dog potential (luckily for me) She is a delight to have here and already appearing to be Alpha female. Alpine gives her bones and lets her have everything first. The girls will stay together with Kebne as this in the team I'm hoping to run in the future due to both adult males retiring this year. Glacier will be our now 6th Malamute to of owned. She was the second pup born within half an hour of Kebne and the one who would try every teat twice just to make sure the last drop has gone. She would also go into a trance and her eyes stare into space every time she had some milk which still makes me chuckle when I think of it. She has a very thick coat, beautiful dark eyes and pigmentation and flows on the move. She has the outline of a true Mountain Home dog.
She has attended show training weekly with Kebne and Alpine from 6 weeks. She has started her show career with a BOOM just like Kebne, by qualifying for Crufts 2019 on her first show at 3 Counties Champ show winning second in puppy bitch and again by winning a first in puppy bitch at Border Union Champ show. There she also won best puppy bitch and best puppy in breed against her Brother in the challenge. Glacier has passed her puppy obedience, Bronze test and at less than nine and a half months she passes her Silver obedience with ease. In September 2018 at only 11 months old she passes her Gold exam, a first for team Iceclimb (!). Now she is staying in this weekly class as she enjoys it so much and will start fun games working on coordination and agility for her working career. At Darlington Champ show 2018 Glacier takes 3rd in puppy bitch, her last time in puppy class. In October 2018 she starts weight pull and pulls a fantastic 900 lbs in novice class! That's over 400 kgs. One more go in novice and she'll be ready for competing. November 2018 she has her second go in weight pull novice class and pulls 800 lb on a very wet day. Glacier is on time out from showing due to never seeming to age. She still looks and behaves like a pup so as much as this does not bother us judges won't see this part against mature heavier boned dogs. Pictures below she is 19 Months old but looks far younger. We enter her puppy results into the Malamute of the Year awards for 2018 and she makes the board just! Joint 17th in puppy of the year. That 2 Iceclimb kids in the top twenty results.
Glacier has been eye tested and is free from hereditary cataracts - July 2019.
Glacier qualifies for Crufts 2020 in her first adult class of 'Post Grad' at the Scottish Champ show by taking first place. Not bad for taking time out and being bald! Least she will be in better condition after a full working season in Sweden in 4 weeks. On Glacier's 2nd Birthday we hike 10.5 miles in 30% of her body weight completing her first working title leg for the U.K and U.S.A back packing scheme.
Glacier is now retired from showing . She attends shows just as a buddy for Kebne.
She now adores the sofa and chilling out being a very much adored and spoilt doggie! :D
Glacier at 5 months socialising at Newark Showground and 7 months at show training & in the van after gaining her Bronze obedience certification. Sat on the benches after gaining 2nd place at 3 Counties Ch show with pal Stax, qualifying for Crufts 2019!
