Our first seal pup and first born puppy! I said I would never breed a litter, never own a black dog or ever keep two pups. Whoops. He kind of decided he was staying by being so nicely bonded with Glacier, being of slightly gentler nature with our existing boys and ranking high on the show potential score sheet.  Knowing his father will be retired within a year of their birth, I felt it wouldn't be an issue to have another male show dog around. So with him staying and being a colour I've never been fond of, he had to have a very different name away from our Alaskan geography theme. So 'Kebne' was chosen after our love of Swedish travel.  Kebnekaise is the largest mountain there and we have sledded around its base many times, in Northern Lapland.  Kebne will be our 5th Malamute to of owned.
 He has won his first trophy in showing by beating an 17 month old dog at 8 months in Junior Match Night, Scunthorpe.  Kebne was very small to start with and certainly made up for it being held on the bottom teats for extra milk.  He's now a chunky monkey who would eat a sack of dog food given the chance.  Kebne has fantastic dark eyes and pigmentation, huge deep chest and very thick harsh double coat. His ears are appearing small in relation to his head and outline coming along nicely. He is everything that I was looking for in a pup for the team.  He has started his show career with a BOOM by qualifying for Crufts 2019 on his first show at 3 Counties Champ show being second in puppy dog and again by winning a first in puppy dog at Border Union Champ show. There he also won best puppy dog / reserve best puppy in breed against his Sister in the challenge. Kebne has passed his puppy foundation award in Kennel Club obedience and at less than nine and a half months he breezes through his Bronze obedience, with Gold quality recall.  September 2018 at 11 months old he passes his Silver exam.  He is now on Gold training.  Darlington Champ show 2018 he takes 1st in Puppy dog, gaining best puppy dog title/reserve best puppy in breed.  In his first Malamute only show and first Junior class Kebne wins 1st place and then Best Junior Dog & Reserve Best Junior in Specialty Show giving him the letters RBJISS at the start of his name at one year and two weeks old.
Kebne does not carry the long coat gene which is very useful for him to hopefully be introduced back into our breeding program in 8-9 years time, bringing back the most amazing dogs in his pedigree to the front again. In October 2018 he starts weight pull training and pulls 1000 lb (the maximum allowed) in novice class.  November 2018 he again pulls the maximum in novice class. In December 2018 he pulls 1100 lb and halfway to 1200 lb in adult class.  Soo close to the 1300 lb he needs!! 13th January he pulls 1 400 lb and still with energy to give.  But we withdraw here due to his age of only 15 Months. Its still a leg towards his American WWPD title! March 2019 he passed his GOLD obedience exam at 17 Months old.  In 2018 Malamute of the Year awards results we find he is 8th in Puppy of the Year and also 8th in Special Beginners.  Over the moon as these points are hard to gain and someone else is always chasing them all year. !! 
Kebne has been eye tested and is free from hereditary cataracts.  On Kebne's second Birthday we go hiking and and complete a full 10.5 miles in back packs carrying 30% of their body weight, this counts as a 'leg' towards their first pack dog title.
